Child Foundation Charity Open Letter From The Executive Director

Welcome to the Child Foundation Charity as we celebrate our first year of existence. And what a remarkable first year it's been! We are realizing our dream of establishing an organization of committed volunteers, dedicated physicians and supportive corporate executives who help children worldwide born with birth defects. Among our accomplishments, in 2007 we incorporated Child Foundation Charity, obtained our 501(c)(3) tax exempt status and moved into our new offices in Miami Beach, Florida.

Apart from these administrative successes, we have recruited a stellar panel of volunteer physicians and surgeons who donate their time and services to helping heal children who suffer from debilitating birth defects. Importantly, we have helped six children defray or totally offset the costs of surgery to correct their physical deformities.

Diana is our first success story, our first dream come true. We raised nearly $5,000 in funds to defray the costs of her surgery. Although her doctor has determined that she needs additional corrective surgery, Diana is now enjoying this new year with the correction of her cleft lip. The medical services that she received contribute to the positive self-image that she and every child deserves. We have raised more than $84,000 to help five other children receive beneficial medical services to correct physical deformities

How are we able to accomplish these feats in our very first year? Through the efforts of our donors, our “Dream Weavers,” all donations go entirely toward our charitable mission - our children. Child Foundation Charity, receives financial support from foundations, businesses and individuals. All of our operational expenses are provided for by an anonymous benefactor, therefore, one hundred percent of your donations go toward a child’s surgery. Every dollar that you donate is a dollar that directly benefits our children.

We have ambitious dreams for 2008. Our plans include efforts to serve dozens of children. We believe there are thousands of children in the world living with birth defects that are unable to receive the surgeries they need. Capitalizing on our successes, we will offer a gala fundraiser September 27, 2008 at the Rusty Pelican on Key Biscayne that will highlight our accomplishments and establish a launching pad for the New Year.
