Child Foundation Charity Welcomes “Baby Miracle” to Miami, FL

Miami, FL - February 8, 2008 - Baby Miracle and family got their visas on Monday, February 4, 2008, and will arrive soon in Miami to meet with their team of doctors at Miami Children's Hospital. We at Child Foundation Charity are honored to be a part of this child's hope for a bright future; one full of life, hope, and many years of happiness. Please help us welcome the arrival of Baby Miracle at Miami Children's Hospital on Thursday, February 14, 2008.

Born September 1, 2007 baby Miracle was not expected to survive for more than a few hours. Her doctors on the island of Apia in Samoa had even decided she should not be fed. Nevertheless, her family refused to let her die. Baby Miracle clung to life despite her deformities with the help of her parents who would sneak nourishment to her.

She was born with her eyes pushed to the side of her face and misshapen; her nose and mouth were malformed, which prevents her from suckling. Her parents and other caregivers would give her milk through a dropper for nourishment. After receiving little encouragement for her survival from the doctors in Samoa, the parents reluctantly decided to go public with her story to help raise funds to take her to New Zealand for a workup and CT scan, but New Zealand refused to give her a visa.

Babies born in the United States are given every possible opportunity for survival while other countries do not and sometimes cannot provide the necessary care for these children.

Her doctors at Miami Children's Hospital are hopeful:

"While we certainly cannot make her completely normal, she has a bilateral cleft lip that we can repair, a meningomyelocoele, and other bone defects of the skull. These are treatments we would do for any child in this country, so why not give Baby Miracle some of the same resources we would provide our own children."

Child Foundation Charity, a 501(c) (3) organization, is composed of dedicated physicians, corporate executives and volunteers dedicated to helping uninsured children worldwide who are born with physical deformities and birth defects. Our task is to raise the necessary funds to help defray hospital expenses that are incurred in treating these precious children.
